Progressing Ballet  Technique

Progressing Ballet Technique is an innovative dance training method from Australia, developed by dancer Marie Walton-Mahon. PBT helps dancers improve their technique by gently training so-called muscle memory. The training builds on essential elements of classical ballet technique. It is particularly effective for injury prevention, as well as for safely returning to training after a period of injury.

  • Focus on body awareness, muscle memory, and functional movement patterns

  • Strengthening of the deep stabilising muscles (core, pelvic floor, back)

  • Improvement of balance, alignment and control through exercises using equipment such as Pilates balls, resistance bands, and small weights

  • Developed in collaboration with ballet teachers and physiotherapists

  • Internationally recognised and integrated into many professional training programmes

„PBT is an innovative training method that specifically strengthens muscle memory, thereby improving technique, strength, and body control across all dance styles.“
