About
My name is Pia Muschaweckh, and I am a certified ballet teacher trained in the internationally recognised system of the Royal Academy of Dance®. Since my early childhood, I have been guided by the principles of the RAD®, completing numerous examinations successfully over many years. In addition, I have been trained in character dance, jazz dance, tap dance, as well as the Wiesenthal technique.
After graduating from high school in 2017, I began studying to become a secondary school teacher for German and History, which I successfully completed with a Bachelor of Education. Alongside my studies, I decided to pursue my passion for ballet professionally and completed the RAD® Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies (CBTS) in 2022 and 2023. Since January 2026, I have been studying for a Master of Arts in Education (Dance Teaching) with the Royal Academy of Dance®.
Since qualifying, I have been working as a freelance ballet teacher with great enthusiasm, teaching children, young people, and adults, and preparing my students for their ballet examinations.
In addition to my classical training, I qualified in 2021 as a Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) instructor – an innovative training method from Australia developed under the direction of Marie Walton-Mahon, which helps ballet students of all ages to improve body awareness, technique, and strength in a targeted way. I offer regular classes in this method (see PBT).
As a registered teacher of the Royal Academy of Dance, I am committed to participating regularly in continuing professional development, including training in child safeguarding. I have also developed a comprehensive safeguarding and welfare policy for children and vulnerable adults, which is available upon request at any time.
As an RAD registered teacher…
… I am a member of a globally recognised professional association of registered dance teachers.
… I am required to adhere to a strict professional code of conduct and ethical guidelines and to continuously update my skills and knowledge through ongoing professional development. An overview of my completed training can be found here.
… I am qualified to teach a carefully structured syllabus that is both enjoyable and designed to support progressive development towards healthy ballet technique. I am also authorised to enter students for examinations.
This is Frieda… 🐾
… my Magyar Vizsla, who occasionally joins classes in the studio. With her calm and friendly nature, she helps create a pleasant atmosphere and is very popular with many students.
During class, she remains calm and stays in her designated spot, ensuring that training can continue without interruption – while of course keeping a professional eye on clean pliés and beautiful lines.
For many students, Frieda is a friendly part of the studio community.
In short: Frieda is not an official part of the syllabus, but a small source of motivation and a much-loved part of everyday ballet life.
